Software Test Engineer - Precision Fires

**Description**

SAIC has an immediate need for a **Software Testing Engineer** to support the Precision Fires team supporting the Aviation and Missile Center located in **Huntsville, AL** onsite at **Redstone Arsenal** .

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Assist the development of test plans, test schedule, and approach for all testing environments

+ Writes test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios

+ Performs tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects

+ Supports verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment

+ Supports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues

+ Documents and works to resolve all complex problem and reports progress on problem resolution to management

**Qualifications**

**Required Education:**

+ BS degree with five (5) years of experience; Six (6) years of additional experience accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

**Required Clearance:**

+ Must have an active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required

**Required Skills:**

+ Understanding of software test methodologies

+ Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams in organizationally complex environments

+ Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with significant experience leading concurrent mission operations

+ Working knowledge of test range planning and coordination

+ Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with an ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences

+ Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

+ Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

+ Experience using version control software

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
