AeroVironment

Huntsville is one of AeroVironment's main sites: its 10-K lists about 150,000 square feet of leased space there, used for administration and to design, engineer, test and manufacture, with significant operations in both its Autonomous Systems and its Space, Cyber and Directed Energy segments. In May 2026 AV announced a 24,000-square-foot expansion, backed by $20.2 million in additional government investment, to make the Huntsville site the integration, manufacturing and production hub for the Freedom Eagle-1 counter-drone interceptor. It also announced a contract to build prototype test environments for missile defense sensor testing at Redstone Arsenal.
